Nainital is a town in the Indian state of Uttarakhand and headquarters of Nainital district in the Kumaon foothills of the outer Himalayas. Situated at an altitude of 1,938 metres (6,358 ft) above sea level, Nainital is set in a valley containing a pear-shaped lake, approximately two miles in circumference, and surrounded by mountains, of which the highest are Naina (2,615 m (8,579 ft)) on the north, Deopatha (2,438 m (7,999 ft)) on the west, and Ayarpatha (2,278 m (7,474 ft)) on the south. From the tops of the higher peaks, "magnificent views can be obtained of the vast plain to the south, or of the mass of tangled ridges lying north, bounded by the great snowy range which forms the central axis of the Himalayas."  

     
Location

Nainital is located at 29.38°N 79.45°E.It has an average elevation of 2,084 metres (6,837 feet). Nainital has temperate summers, maximum temperature 27 °C (81 °F); minimum temperature 7 °C (45 °F), during which its population increases more than fivefold with an annual influx of tourists predominantly from the plains of Northern India. In the winter, Nainital receives snowfall between December and February with the temperatures varying between a maximum of 15 °C (59 °F) and a minimum of −3 °C(27 °F).

Day 01

1030 Hrs:             Start for sightseeing to Mall Road, shopping  ( Crowded but famous Mall

Road always filled with tourist and locals, shops, eating joints and the Lake during peak seasons and snow during winters. It is a point of union between Mallital and Tallital  that makes it the busiest place in Nainital, specially during peak seasons. The mall road stretches between 1km. up to Nainital boat club. As you walk by, you will find many shops selling imported items like, Belts, Bags, and many more including exquisite candle shops.)

 & Tour of china peak by Ropeway  (The highest peak of Nainital provides a challenge to the most avid trekkers. Situated about 6 kms from the town China Peak is known for its splendid Bird's eye view of the town, the Himalayas and also the vast expanses of the Terai regions of Kumaon)

Boating at Naini Lake ( Nainital Lake, a natural freshwater body, situated amidst the township of Nainital in UttarakhandState of Indiatectonic in origin, is kidney shaped or crescent shaped and has an outfall at the southeastern end. Nainital Lake, in the Nainital district called the Lake District of India, is one of the four Lakes of Kumaon hills; the other three lakes are the Sattal Lake, the Bhimtal Lake and the Naukuchiyatal Lake.)

DAY 03
     

06:00 Hrs: Early Morning adventure trip for scenic view of himalayan  peaks & local

Fauna. (There is a wide variety of wildlife in the region. The dense and verdant surrounding forests are the  natural habitat of barking deer (Kakad), black bears, leopards etc. Birds such as the Himalayan Whistling Thrush, Red Billed Blue Magpie, Pheasant Partridge, and many more can be commonly spotted. Trees like oak, silver fir, pine, deodar, and juniper grow here luxuriantly and in abundance. The bright red rhododendrons add immensely to the magnificent views of the spectacular region. Few hundred trees of various beautiful varieties were planted at Wildflower Hills recently. Some of them include Spruce, Agathis, Chinese Fir, Golden Cypress, Podocarpus, Weeping Willow, Lagestromia, Red Bottle Brush, Chamaecyparis besides Apple & other fruit trees.)
